The Zen of Local
Somewhat interesting post about the need for SMB profile aggregation. As we build out the data side of the platform, we may want to consider hosting that functionality, to allow us to be their hub for updating their information on multiple platforms (Mark, sound familiar?)

Local Search Guide 2.0
From Screenwerk Blog:
"Local Search Guide 2.0
"Local Search Guide 2.0
The Yellow Pages Association has relaunched its Local Search Guide with a cleaner look and a new mobile section. The site is evolving into a much more useful site and resource. The new design is consistent with that. Apropos of the new mobile sections, here are the results of a mobile-related online poll (don’t know the ultimate sample size):
- 66 percent are using mobile phones to search for local business listings
- 37 percent use free directory assistance
- 17 percent most often use SMS/text messaging
- 12 percent say they use downloadable mobile search applications to find local information
- 34 percent report not using mobile search because the experience is frustrating
The free DA number in particular is somewhat higher than other usage figures I’ve been involved with collecting, which put free DA usage between 25 percent and 30 percent of online survey respondents."
